Hello Fall! This is the time of the year when I enjoy trying new recipes that are healthy, yet delicious. Today I made two leaves of cranberry banana bread and I also made two leaves of the recipe I am about to share with you. It is absolutely delicious. If you like apple crisp or apple pie, you have got to try out this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup egg whites OR 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups self rising flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large apple, finely chopped (I used two gala apples)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Spray pan with baking spray or grease it
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and set aside
- Combine sugar, butter, egg whites, vanilla & mix until smooth
- Add 1 cup flour and mix until combined, add the milk and remaining flour.
- Add the apples to the mix and combine
- Sprinkle with brown sugar cinnamon mix
- Bake for 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes
- Serve and enjoy or wrap it up for another day.
