Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

I took Autumn Calbrese's Turkey Chili recipe & switched it to be made in the crock pot. Who doesn't love a quick, healthy, & simple dinner?

Serves:6
Serving size: 1 cup

Ingredients: 


  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium bell pepper (green)
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (I did not use this)
  • 1/4 cayenne pepper (skipped this as well)--replaced with crushed red pepper
  • 1 cans black beans or pinto beans, drained
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • fresh cilantro

Directions:


  1. Spray saucepan with olive oil cooking spray, cook until brown
  2. Spray crock pot or use a slow cooker bag & spray the sides & bottom
  3. Add ingredients to the crock pot 
  4. Add meat and stir
  5. Cook on low until warm


  • Optional: add garbanzo beans and corn for textture and flavor
  • Meat Subsitutions: ground beef, turkey, or chicken
