Chocolate Frosting Cheat Sheet


Have you ever wanted to have frosting that was not filled with all of the chemicals and junk in it? In 2014, I began a journey to get healthier and with that, I began making changes in my diet. Nutrition is the KEY to living a healthier lifestyle and getting RESULTS. These frostings would be great with cakes, donut frostings, cookies. The possibilities are endless for how these recipes can be used. 

Milk Chocolate
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp whipping cream
  1. Mix together the ingredients until they reach desired consistency.
Dark Chocolate
  • 24 oz semisweet chocolate
  • 4 cups whipping cream
  • 1 tsp light corn syrup
  1. Melt the chocolate with the cream over low heat. 
  2. Add the syrup into the chocolate mixture. 
  3. Refrigerate for 2 hours. 
  4. Stir every 15-20 minutes.
Chocolate Mousse
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp whipping cream
  1. Beat together the eggs and sugar.
  2. Add 1 cup of heated cream and stir slowly.
  3. Heat over low and stir in the chocolate.
  4. Refrigerate until chilled, whip the remaining cream, and add it to the chilled chocolate mixture.
Chocolate Ganache
  • 8 oz. semisweet chocolate
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  1. Heat the cream, then pour it over the chocolate
  2. Let it stand for about 5 minutes
  3. Add the butter, and stir until smooth

Whipped Chocolate
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  1. Beat the cream until it thickens
  2. Add in the remaining ingredients until desired consistency is reached
