🍫 Cast Iron Skillet Brownie Bake 🍫

I was looking for a simple dessert that my friends and I could enjoy this evening. Who doesn't love chocolate? 🍫 🍨 I can't wait to see how this recipe turns out and if my friends enjoy it! 😋
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup safflower oil
  • 2 ounces chocolate chips (I used bittersweet)
  • 3/4 ounce unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 extra-large egg
  • 1/4 cup plus 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease (1) 6.5-inch cast iron skillet, set aside.
  2. Place the chocolate chips, unsweetened chocolate, and oil in a large microwaveable bowl. Heat on HIGH for 30 seconds, stir, and heat for an additional 30 seconds. Stir until all the chocolate bits are melted, set aside.
  3. Beat the egg, vanilla, and sugar together in a small bowl.
  4. Add a small amount of the melted chocolate mixture and whisk to combine.
  5. Slowly pour the egg mixture into the chocolate mixture while whisking until thoroughly combined.
  6. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Mix 1/4 cup of chocolate chips with 1/2 a Tablespoon of flour.
  8. Add to the brownie batter and stir until until combined. Pour the mixture into the prepared skillet.
  9. Bake for 26 minutes*, do not overbake! A toothpick will not come out clean when inserted into the brownie.
  10. Serve while warm with a scoop of ice cream.
