Chicken Fried Steak

After being sick for two days 😷 tonight I had a craving for chicken fried steak. The best part is that it was a low carb dinner and simple to make. There was no guilt in this dinner and it satisfied a craving. Th recipe requires ingredients that you already have in your home and dinner can be on the table in an hour or less 🕰 which makes it the perfect dish for students and moms.

What you need:

1 lb of ground beef OR 1 pack of cubed steak (you might need more depending on your family size)
1/3 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
salt and pepper
Spices: garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, meat tenderizer
2 egg whites
2 tbsp of milk
Cooking spray
1 package of country gravy

Directions:

Preheat an oven to 400 degrees
Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray
In a medium bowl combine the flour and breadcrumbs
In a small bowl add 2 egg whites and 2 tbsp of milk and stir
Dip the meat into the breadcrumbs, than dip into the egg mixture, and a final dip into the flour mixture.
Place the meat onto the sprayed baking sheet and place it in the oven.
Bake the meat for 10 minutes on one side, flip it over to the other side and bake for another 11 minutes. The meat will be a golden brown or brown depending on how you like your meat.
Prepare the country gravy and your sides.
Recommendations: pair with mashed potatoes and green beans
